Flograppling is streaming the upcoming 2026 ADCC Open in 16 days!
The 2026 ADCC Los Angeles Open is officially scheduled for Friday, April 17, 2026, with the event taking place at Fairplex, Expo Hall 9, 1101 W McKinley Ave, Pomona, California. Registration is open through Wednesday, April 15, and matches are set to begin at 8:00 a.m. on event day.
As with other ADCC Open events, the Los Angeles stop looks positioned to be one of the biggest showcases on the West Coast calendar. The tournament is part of ADCC’s broader U.S. Open circuit and arrives during a packed April window that also includes the West Coast Trials on April 18–19, making Los Angeles a major destination for no-gi competitors chasing both experience and bigger ADCC opportunities.
The Los Angeles Open is also tied directly into the youth qualification picture. ADCC’s official youth guidance says that U.S. youth qualification for 2026 includes a West Coast U.S. Trials component, and that youth trials divisions at these events take place during the Friday Open, before the adult trials weekend. ADCC also states that advanced youth medals at U.S. Opens count toward the points race for Youth Worlds qualification, adding even more significance to strong performances in Los Angeles.
For athletes planning to compete, the registration pricing follows the standard ADCC Open format for this event: $125 through April 11, then $150 through the April 15 registration deadline, with $75 to add an additional division and a maximum of two divisions per entry. Official weigh-ins are scheduled for Thursday, April 16 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with kids weighing in from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. and all competitors eligible from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
ADCC’s official rules for Opens make clear that the event is no-gi only, and that ADCC Opens are open to a wide field of competitors, from kids through masters and from beginner through advanced, with no qualifying requirement simply to enter the Open itself.
On the competitive side, the Los Angeles Open should once again attract a deep mix of seasoned names, up-and-coming prospects, and ambitious local talent. Events like this have become important proving grounds because they combine the accessibility of an open tournament with the prestige of the ADCC brand. For many grapplers, it is a chance to test themselves under ADCC rules, rack up meaningful results, and build momentum heading into the more selective parts of the season.
There is also a bigger atmosphere around this one than a typical standalone Open. With the West Coast Trials immediately following in the same venue, the Los Angeles weekend figures to draw athletes, coaches, and teams from across the country. Even for competitors who are not entering Trials, that kind of concentration of talent tends to raise the level of the entire event and gives the Open a more serious, championship-adjacent feel.
Sadly, there will be no Car Jiu Jitsu brackets at this event – but maybe if enough of us complain, that can change. Your voice matters.
