Consider Calling Him Wwittreich, As Tyler Wittreich Racks Up Yet Another W: Tyler Wittreich Vs Koby Carr-Pierce In The TGGL

Taking a look today at another match out of the TGGL’s lightweight division. We have Tyler Wittreich of Tackle Jiujitsu going up against Koby Carr-Pierce out of Wolverine Style MMA. Wittreich enters the contest with 24 league points from various victories, whereas Carr-Pierce is presently without league point.

After a brief engagement in hand-fighting, Wittreich gets the snapdown on Carr-Pierce, sending him to the ground, where Carr-Pierce immediately get proactive inverting into a leg entry.

Carr-Pierce does well to control the hip and knee-line, but Wittreich manages to pivot around, escaping the entry and pulling guard into half.

From there Wittreich would work to break posture and seemingly look at a triangle or armbar setup from a now sort of open guard (I’m sure it has a technical name, but I don’t have time to ask Gemini about it at the moment…) However nothing notable would come out of the endeavor and Tyler would look to work back to his feet.

One Wittreich was up, Carr-Pierce looked to join him, first wrestling up, then looking to snag a single but Wittreich counters with heavy pressure on the head, causing Carr-Pierce to opt towards the mat.

Wittreich would have a notable attempt at a guillotine, that Carr-Pierce attempts to roll out of, however Wittreich rides the choke into mount, however in doing so lost his grip and was not able to re-situate in time.

From mount, Wittreich would abandon the choke, and look to take the back. He would succeed. Once on the back of Carr-Pierce, Wittreich would first secure his position with the body triangle, and then isolate a shoulder. Once in position, Wittreich garners the tap from Carr-Pierce.

A truly action-packed match out of the TGGL’s lightweight division. Carr-Pierce defended himself in some pretty precarious positions! Let me know what you thought of this match down below in the comments! And, as always, thank you for grappling!
