UFC BJJ 5 [Full Results]

UFC BJJ 5 delivered chaos, composure, and championship control on February 12th, 2026. By the end of the night, both reigning champions were still wearing gold — but not before a handful of statements were made in emphatic fashion.

The tone was set immediately.

Jalen Fonacier walked into the opening match and apparently had dinner plans, because he wasted exactly 19 seconds before heel hooking Carlos “Bebeto” Oliveira into the record books. It was the fastest finish in promotional history — blink and you missed it. Somewhere, the production team was still adjusting camera angles.

The pace slowed, but only briefly. After a few tactical exchanges, Rebeca Lima delivered one of the nastiest moments of the night. As Taylor Hishaw hunted for an ankle-lock, Lima calmly countered with a brutal Estima lock that had the crowd wincing and Hishaw tapping. High-level jiu-jitsu is beautiful. Sometimes it’s also deeply uncomfortable.

Andy Murasaki followed by putting on an armbar clinic. Rather than settling for one variation, he cycled through them like a technician flipping through tools, eventually forcing Andy Varela to concede. Efficiency, but make it stylish.

Then came the long-awaited return of Nicholas Meregali. After 17 months away from competition, questions lingered — ring rust? Timing? Sharpness? He answered all of them with a commanding decision win over Nicholas Maglicic. No submission, no theatrics — just control. The kind that reminds you why he’s one of the most feared names in the sport.

The first title fight of the evening saw middleweight champion Ronaldo Junior attempt his first defense against the always-dangerous Tarik Hopstock. Hopstock had flashes, moments that hinted at a shift. But Junior never lost the narrative. He controlled the exchanges, dictated the pace, and when the scorecards were read, the result felt procedural. The belt stayed exactly where it was.

The main event, though, gave fans something unexpected.

Mikey Musumeci — known for his relentless guard work and submission hunting — shocked many by spending extended time on top against Shay Montague. Instead of diving underneath, he passed. Pressured. Tested Montague’s guard in a way few have dared. Montague held up admirably, showcasing just how dangerous his bottom game really is.

Then, halfway through the second round, Musumeci did what elite grapplers do: he noticed something microscopic and turned it into something permanent. He sat back for an ankle-lock, and Montague tapped almost instantly.

A subtle shift. A sudden end. Championship retained.
