Today we are taking a look at a middleweight matchup out of the TGGL(Tackle Grapple Grappling League) as Jack Baeppler of Tackle Jiujitsu takes on Roy Ware of True Art Jiujitsu. Jack comes into the match with 12 league points from his previous submission victory, and Roy with no points as of yet.
It would be Baeppler that would strike first, getting a takedown by way of snapdown(dragdown), Ware would respond by turtling up and allowing Jack to attempt to break into his guard.

While Baeppler would indeed remain on top for almost the entire match, we would definitely struggle to crack into Ware’s clamshell of a guard, trying multiple times to pass, or take the back, but Roy would defend well.
Eventually Ware would manage to scramble back up to his feet and begin standing against Baeppler once again, however Baeppler would soon score another takedown, this time by way of a single-leg of sorts.

Once on the ground the second time, Baeppler would have a greater success at taking Ware’s back, this time managing to secure his hooks and start looking for some submissions.
While Baeppler would secure the dominant position, and manage to hold Ware in place for just about the remainder of the match, it would prove to be without fruition as the match would go to the full length without submission (boo!), all three judges would score the match in Baeppler’s favor. Jack takes the points and the victory.

What did you think of the match? A solid display of wrestling prowess, or an inability to pull the trigger? Let me know your thoughts down below in the comments! And, as always, thank you for grappling!
