Short And Sweet(Just The Way We Like ‘Em!): More Out Of The TGGL Lightweight Division

In today’s matchup, we’ve got John Soltis of Cleveland Institute of BJJ going up against Control Martial Arts’ Tj Stuber. Soltis walks into the match with 12 league points (from his submission against Hughes), and Stuber without points coming into the match.

Stuber would kick things off by attacking a scissor sweep into a leg entrance almost immediately at the start of the match, taking matters to the ground and more specifically, Soltis’ left leg.

Stuber looks to take a big old bite out of Soltis’ heel, but John defends well, rolling, and sweeping Stuber into bottom half(butterfly half).

Once on top, Soltis would remain dominant for the rest of the round. From here, we would see him transition a couple of times, but always doing well to keep the pressure on, and staying in good position.

Soltis would once again avoid one of Stuber’s leg entries, this time rolling into a heelhook entry of his own, one which he would seal the deal with, getting the tap, the points, and the victory.

I gotta say, I love when these matches are straight to the point, if only we could get the middleweights on board with rollin’ for subs! A lot of exciting action in this match by two very skilled grapplers, but tell me what you thought! Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below! And, as always, thank you for grappling!
