Heavy On The Head: Mason Stanley Vs Koby Carr-Pierce In The TGGL

Taking a look today at Mason Stanley of Levitate Jiujitsu going up against Koby Carr-Pierce of Wolverine Style MMA. Mason enters the contest with 12 pre-existing league points, whereas Carr-Pierce is without points at the time of this match.

Stanley would shoot in for a single leg, but would find himself unable to leverage Carr-Pierce to the mat, the scramble that ensued would find Mason in the turtle position, with Carr-Pierce ratcheting a head and arm.

From turtle, Carr-Pierce would mount a somewhat successful backtake, but was unable to maintain chest to back connection, and Stanley rolls out, but not before Carr-Pierce narrowly snatches an armbar attempt.

The match was a constant back and forth between the two, both men seemingly favoring a similar stylistic approach for this match, as another armbar scramble would ensue, this time with Stanley almost snatching the arm.

From the position of topside with a head and arm, Mason manages to secure a necktie, a move he is becoming known for in the league, and although he doesn’t manage to get his top leg over, he does have the bite, and Carr-Pierce gives the tap moments later. Mason Stanley takes the points and the victory.

Another solid finish from Mason Stanley! He has hit the Peruvian necktie in multiple league matches now, and even a carjitsu match as well! Let me know what you thought about the match down below in the comments! And, as always, thank you for grappling!
