Leglock WAR Out Of The TGGL: TGGL 2 Middleweight Division: Neeley Vs McKinney

In today’s offering out of the TGGL Middleweight Division, we have James Neeley of Stout PGH facing off against Anthony “Tony” McKinney out of Revolution Fight And Fitness. Both men without points as of the beginning of this match.

After briefly testing one another’s ability on their feet, it would be McKinney who would opt to pull guard first, working a sort of half-guard/k-guard type of guard.

It would not be long before Neeley found himself a foot and sat back with vigor, which would set the pace for most of the remaining match, as both men would proceed to put on a clinic in leglock entries and subsequent defense.

The two men, would spend most of the match in a near constant ebb and flow of attack and then defend centralized around the other’s feet.

The two men would opt to stand back up, perhaps to test each other one more time, before dragging each other back to the mat to try to break each other’s legs some more.

Even the judges were all eyes for this constant back and forth of a match, truly making for an exciting middleweight matchup!

In the closing moments of the match, one of the competitors, Anthony “Tony” McKinney would opt to switch it up a bit, attacking a guillotine from top side control, and though it looked insanely tight, James Neeley ate every second of it, sending the match to referee decision where McKinney would win a narrow decision win siting his last moment sub attempt as partial reason.

What a match?! Not all matches make 6 minutes blow by like this one did! This may be my favorite match out of the TGGL so far this season. Let me know what you think about it, or if you disagree with the judges’ choice! And, as always, thank you for grappling!
