In today’s tale of the tape, we have Kevin Anderson fighting out of Hurrican Jiujitsu going up against Jack Baeppler of Tackle Jiujitsu. Both men entering the match without any league points, as this is our first Middleweight division match of this season in the TGGL.
Baeppler would strike first, scoring a takedown and bringing Kevin and the match down to the mat. Baeppler would land on top and begin mounting his attack from there.

Baeppler would use strong top-side pressure to put the squeeze on Anderson, but Anderson remained composed, rebuidling his frames and guard multiple times over amidst Jack’s onslaught.
We would see Anderson battle back up to his feet via a wrestleup, however only to be taken almost immediately back down into half-guard(k-guard maybe?) where most of the rest of our time would play out.

Baeppler, using the catch wrestling sequences taught in Tackle’s nogi program, made his way to the interesting position of reverse mount, sometimes known as “reading the morning news paper”.
From there, we would see Baeppler dive-bomb Anderson’s foot, snatching up the toehold for the points and the league victory.

In his post match interview Baeppler sited his opponent as being a skilled grappler, and a great competitor as elements that made his match memorable, truly a class act.
But what did you think of the match? Let me know in the comments down below! And, as always, thank you for grappling!
