Prograppler Editorial Policy

Last Updated: [Insert Date]

Prograppler is a combat sports media publication covering Brazilian jiu-jitsu, submission grappling, MMA, martial arts culture, events, athletes, promotions, instructionals, gear, and related news. Our goal is to inform, entertain, and serve the grappling community with timely reporting, thoughtful commentary, event coverage, reviews, interviews, and original editorial content.

Editorial Mission

Prograppler exists to cover the world of grappling and combat sports with accuracy, personality, and respect for the athletes, coaches, promotions, gyms, and fans who make the sport possible.

We aim to publish content that is:

  • Accurate and clearly sourced
  • Useful to readers
  • Fair to the people and organizations covered
  • Transparent about opinion, satire, sponsorships, and corrections
  • Entertaining without misleading the audience

Prograppler may publish serious news, event coverage, opinion pieces, reviews, satire, humor, and cultural commentary. We believe combat sports can be covered professionally without stripping away the personality, absurdity, and humor that make the grappling community unique.

Editorial Independence

Prograppler maintains editorial independence in its coverage and opinions. Sponsors, advertisers, affiliates, event promotions, athletes, gyms, or outside partners do not control our editorial conclusions.

Sponsored content, paid partnerships, affiliate relationships, or promotional articles will be clearly labeled when applicable.

We may cover events, athletes, organizations, or products with which we have a commercial relationship, but any such relationship will be disclosed when relevant to the readerโ€™s understanding of the article.

News Coverage

When publishing news, event coverage, results, announcements, or factual reporting, Prograppler makes a good-faith effort to verify information before publication.

Sources may include:

  • Official promotion announcements
  • Athlete, coach, or gym statements
  • Event pages
  • Athletic commission records, where applicable
  • Social media posts from verified or directly relevant parties
  • Interviews
  • Press releases
  • Public records
  • Other reputable media outlets

When reporting on developing stories, we may update articles as new information becomes available. If a story is incomplete, evolving, or based on early reports, we will make that clear when appropriate.

Opinion and Commentary

Prograppler publishes opinion, commentary, analysis, rankings, previews, predictions, reviews, and cultural criticism. These pieces may include the authorโ€™s personal views, humor, interpretation, or editorial judgment.

Opinion content should not intentionally misrepresent facts. When an article is primarily opinion or commentary, we will make that clear through the articleโ€™s framing, category, headline, or labeling.

Satire and Humor

Prograppler may publish satire, parody, jokes, memes, and humor-based articles related to grappling and combat sports.

Satire is intended for entertainment and commentary. Satirical articles should not be presented in a way that reasonably deceives readers into believing fictional events are factual reporting. When appropriate, satire articles will be labeled as Satire, Humor, or otherwise clearly marked.

Reviews

Prograppler may review events, products, services, instructionals, gyms, gear, media, apps, or other offerings related to grappling and combat sports.

Reviews reflect the opinion and experience of the author. If a reviewed product or service was provided for free, discounted, sponsored, or tied to an affiliate relationship, we will disclose that relationship when relevant.

A sponsor or affiliate relationship does not guarantee a positive review.

Sponsored Content and Advertising

Prograppler may publish sponsored articles, advertisements, affiliate links, paid interviews, promotional features, or brand partnerships.

Sponsored or paid content will be labeled in a way that helps readers understand the nature of the relationship. Labels may include:

  • Sponsored
  • Advertisement
  • Paid Partnership
  • Presented By
  • Affiliate Link
  • Promotional Feature

Advertisers and sponsors may not purchase favorable editorial opinions in ordinary editorial coverage.

Conflicts of Interest

Writers, editors, contributors, or partners should avoid covering stories where a personal, financial, or professional relationship would prevent fair treatment of the subject.

When a potential conflict exists, Prograppler may:

  • Disclose the relationship in the article
  • Assign the piece to another writer
  • Reframe the article as opinion or promotional content
  • Decline to cover the subject

Because combat sports communities are often small and interconnected, Prograppler recognizes that contributors may know athletes, coaches, gym owners, or promoters personally. When relevant, transparency is the standard.

Use of Social Media

Prograppler may use social media posts as sources when the post is public and relevant to the story. This may include posts from athletes, coaches, promotions, gyms, event organizers, officials, sponsors, or other directly involved parties.

When possible, we will attribute information to the original source.

Social media rumors, anonymous claims, or unverified screenshots should be treated carefully and should not be presented as confirmed fact.

Allegations and Sensitive Stories

When covering allegations, arrests, lawsuits, misconduct claims, abuse claims, criminal matters, or other sensitive subjects, Prograppler aims to use extra care.

Coverage should distinguish between:

  • Allegations
  • Charges
  • Lawsuits
  • Confirmed findings
  • Statements from involved parties
  • Public records
  • Rumors or unverified claims

We will avoid presenting allegations as proven facts unless they have been legally or otherwise conclusively established.

Whenever possible and appropriate, Prograppler will seek comment from relevant parties or include available public statements.

Accuracy

Prograppler strives to publish accurate information. We make reasonable efforts to verify names, dates, locations, event details, results, quotes, rankings, and claims before publication.

If we make an error, we will correct it according to our Corrections Policy.

Attribution

When Prograppler relies on reporting, interviews, statements, images, videos, statistics, or information from other sources, we aim to provide appropriate attribution.

We do not knowingly plagiarize. Articles should be original work or clearly attributed summaries, commentary, rewrites, or responses to existing public information.

Images, Video, and Media

Prograppler may use images, videos, embedded social media posts, screenshots, promotional materials, public-domain materials, licensed assets, user-submitted media, or media provided by promotions, athletes, gyms, or brands.

When necessary, we will provide credit or attribution.

AI-Assisted Content

Prograppler may use AI-assisted tools to support drafting, editing, research organization, headline brainstorming, formatting, summaries, or content production workflows.

AI tools should not replace editorial judgment. Human review is expected before publication. Prograppler is responsible for the accuracy, tone, sourcing, and final presentation of all published content.

AI-generated or AI-assisted content should not be used to knowingly fabricate quotes, sources, results, or events.

Prograppler Corrections Policy

Last Updated: 05/24/26

Prograppler strives to publish accurate, fair, and useful coverage of grappling, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, MMA, martial arts culture, events, athletes, promotions, and related news. When errors happen, we aim to correct them promptly and transparently.

How to Request a Correction

If you believe an article contains an error, please contact us at:

hudak@prograppler.com

Please include:

  • The article title
  • The article URL
  • The information you believe is incorrect
  • The correct information
  • A source, link, document, screenshot, statement, or explanation supporting the correction
  • Your name and relationship to the subject, if relevant

We review credible correction requests as quickly as reasonably possible.

What We Correct

Prograppler may issue corrections for factual errors, including but not limited to:

  • Incorrect names
  • Incorrect dates or times
  • Incorrect event locations
  • Incorrect match results
  • Incorrect ranks, teams, or affiliations
  • Incorrect quotes or attribution
  • Incorrect links
  • Misidentified athletes, coaches, gyms, promotions, or organizations
  • Outdated information presented as current
  • Material omissions that significantly change the meaning of a story

Minor Updates

Some changes may be made without a formal correction notice. These may include:

  • Typographical errors
  • Grammar fixes
  • Formatting changes
  • Broken link updates
  • Minor headline adjustments
  • Image replacement or resizing
  • Clarifying language that does not change the meaning of the article

These minor edits do not usually require a correction note.

Material Corrections

If an article contains a significant factual error, Prograppler will update the article and may add a correction note explaining what was changed.

A correction note may appear at the bottom or top of the article and may read, for example:

Correction: A previous version of this article misstated [describe error]. The article has been updated to reflect [correct information].

Updates to Developing Stories

Some stories evolve after publication. When new information becomes available, Prograppler may update an article to include additional details, statements, results, links, or context.

When an update materially changes the story, we may include an update note such as:

Updates are not always corrections. A correction addresses an error. An update adds new information or context.

Retractions

In rare cases, Prograppler may retract an article if the central facts are found to be substantially incorrect, unsupported, misleading, or otherwise inappropriate to keep published in its original form.

If an article is retracted, Prograppler may remove the article, leave a retraction notice, or replace the article with an editorโ€™s note explaining the decision.

Right of Reply

If a person, gym, promotion, brand, or organization is the subject of critical coverage and believes important context is missing, they may contact Prograppler with a statement or response.

We may choose to update the article, include a response, publish a follow-up, or decline to make changes depending on the relevance, accuracy, and news value of the information provided.

Opinion, Reviews, and Satire

Not all disagreement is a correction.

Prograppler publishes opinion, analysis, reviews, satire, humor, and commentary. We generally do not issue corrections simply because a reader disagrees with an opinion, joke, ranking, prediction, review, or editorial judgment.

However, factual errors within opinion, review, or satire content may still be corrected.

Transparency

When correcting significant errors, Prograppler aims to be transparent with readers. We do not intend to hide meaningful mistakes.

Our goal is to preserve trust with the grappling community by correcting errors clearly, fairly, and without unnecessary delay.
