Tango In The Durango (Part 3): Prograppler(still) Live On Site For The TGGL’s Cleveland Carjitsu Extravaganza

Starting things of hot today, we’ve got Tackle Jiujitsu’s Sean Soeder facing off against Brandon, a ronin in the budding martial discipline of Carjitsu. Both men start the round looking practically thirsty for a Sheetz giftcard (brought to you by Prograppler.com and @Prograpplernews).

Soeder would take top position right off rip, but Brandon maintains some strong frames, keeping his larger opponent at bay for the time being. Still, those frames couldn’t last forever and Sean bears down upon Brandon, with seatbelt in hand and malevolence on the mind. Managing to stay tightly balled in the face of adversity, Brandon buys precious moments, holding off the seatbelt choke of Sean Soeder. However, after Sean resituates his grip, the choke sets in quickly, garnering the tap from Brandon shortly thereafter.

Starting off the second round of matches, we have Hughes v Neeley. Dan Hughes, the Prograppler staffer, looking to represent his knowledge in niche grappling and trivial pursuits, but in his way stands the grappling powerhouse that is James Neeley. Both men, surely desperate for yet another Sheetz giftcard (brought to you by Prograppler.com).

It would be Hughes who unbuckles first, looking to gain top position, but he goes in low and Neeley just bulls right over him, pushing him back to his seat like a belligerent child. James Neeley gets ahold of Hughes’ seatbelt and just as quickly as things began, Hughes is on the defense, trying like mad just to stay alive in the front seat of this mid-90s pile of metal and plastic. Hughes, now bearing the fullness of James Neeley via knee-on belly, and the ever-present threat of a seatbelt joke, moves to open the door and starts trying to elevate Neeley’s foot/knee. Though Hughes’ efforts would prove fruitless in the end, and Neeley gets the tap, the glory, and the giftcard.

Next up would be a two for one Tackle-boy special, as both competitors hale from Tackle Jiujitsu of Middleburg Heights, Ohio, and both Stefan Kloss and Marty Rehor are no strangers to the 2000 model of Dodge’s luxurious Durango sports utility vehicle.

Marty, the nubile, young buck does well to get out of his seatbelt and get to a dominant position early on, but Stefan, ever the seasoned competitor remains calm and composed, now playing defense from the passenger seat. Rehor would opt to open the door, looking the expel Kloss from the car, but that was just the right amount of space for Stefan to pry against the steering-wheel, and regain some space. Kloss would take advantage of a momentary gap in pressure to shimmy himself onto the center console, and bait an unassuming trap. Rehor bites, choosing the enter his guard, and that was just what Stefan wanted, sinching up a triangle choke to secure the Sheetz giftcard.

In possibly the “most experienced” match of the event, Tackle Jiujitsu’s own founding fathers take the stage. In the passenger seat, Adam “DontGiveMeANickname” Kniffer faces the powerful bottom action of Michael Hudak (of Prograppler fame).

Both these titans explode powerfully out of their respective belts, and clash over the center console, vying for topside position. While neither man really achieved top status, Adam does manage to pin Michael’s arm to his waist, causing a dejected Michael Hudak to retreat one level back into the backseat, looking to develop some action back there. And the action would indeed develop as Hudak both grabs a seatbelt, and kicks open the door, bracing himself for impact. There, a strong skirmish would be mounted by both men, battling for control of the backseat seatbelt. Adam would bear down upon Michael threateningly, looking to finish him off on his back in the backseat of this mid-90s monstrosity, though Hudak manages to battle back, bringing the action back into the center row of seating in the Durango. Hudak, now goin on the defensive, braces his foot on Kniffer’s chest, and the yeets him into the third row of seating in this truly monstrous SUV. Once into the final row of seating, there would be no escape, someone was going to be tapped. That someone happened to be Adam Kniffer, via a fist-full of seatbelt at the hands of Michael Hudak.

With the tension mounting, and the Sheetz giftcards (provided by Prograppler.com) stacking up, there can be only ONE Carjisu King. With Hughes, Rehor, and Kniffer eliminated, who do you think it’s going to be? Stay tuned for our continued coverage of the Cleveland Carjitsu Kings Tournament to find out! And, as always, thank you for grappling!
