Lessons On Leg Retention And Commitment To The Bit: Tallon Pollard Vs Davit Arakelyan

Today’s offering out of the TGGL pits Davit Arakelyan of Ararat Martial Arts vs Tallon Pollard of Wolverine Style MMA. Both men enter this contest without previous league points.

Davit would be the one to start this dance off for us, as he drops down and sends an imanari roll, putting himself directly on the leg of Tallon Pollard. When the dust settled, we’d see neither man with a convincing bite, but both hunting feverishly for it.

From the start of it, both men seemed intent on keeping this contest a battle of the legs, a shootout of who can strike first.

I’m not sure if he was more concerned about the bite on his ankle than Tallon was on his(it didn’t look very concerning), but Davit would be the first to get his foot to the mat, taking a knee, before once again looking at the legs.

Very briefly, Arakelyan would give a look at a can opener, taking advantage of Pollard’s concern with attacking his opponent’s legs, it was not successful however and Tallon would break out.

Pollard would show great determination on his assault of the legs on Arakelyan, but Davit would stand strong, showing calm repose as he defends.

In a moment of convenient counter attack, Arakelyan slaps a toehold on Pollard, and Pollard immediately tenders the tap. Davit takes the points and the victory.

I love to see a good toehold finish; Simple, clean and effective! Let me know what you thought about the match down below in the comments! And, as always, thank you for grappling!
