The tale of the tape today features TJ Stuber of Control Martial Arts going up against Tackle Jiujitsu’s Dan Hughes. Both men are presently without points, Hughes with two back to back losses, and Stuber just fresh to this round of matches.
The action in this match would kick off with Hughes going for a guillotine right out of the gate, to which Stuber responds by pulling guard, and escaping the immediate threat.

Most of the match would consist of Hughes spamming guillotines from pretty much every position, and TJ rolling into either a form of turtle, or closed guard, where Hughes would again begin his pursuit of spamming guillotines.
Both men would flirt at leg entanglements, but neither would develop anything off of initial entrances, or haphazard bites on the ankle.

Having all but given up on hoisting Stuber off the ground by his own neck, Hughes begins to switch up spamming wristlocks momentarily, a couple of which looked somewhat close to success.
With about 30 seconds remaining, Stuber would throw up one last attempt at a triangle, but Hughes postures nicely and is out of the way of any notable threat. It would go to decision where the judges would find it unanimously in Hughes’ favor.

Do you think Dan Hughes was able to redeem himself here a little-bit, or was it too much half-assed knee wrestling and old-man jiujitsu? Do you agree with the judges’ decision, or would you have scored it differently? Let me know about it down in the comments! And, as always, thank you for grappling!
