The first match of the evening was Tim Lange(South Prospect Gym) and Zachary Beeman(Full Circle BJJ). Both men looking to open up this Middleweight division with a submission and some points.
Lange quickly initiates a collar-tie on Beeman, however Beeman counters with a trip of his own, taking Lange to the ground and immediately stars attacking a choke.

We would see Beeman finish his choke on Lange, and taking home the points well within the first minute of the match.

The next match on the evening’s docket would be Cleveland Institute’s Gary Chaney vs Tackle’s Jack Baeppler. In this match we see a spectacular display of wrestling from square one, with Baeppler immediately landing a substantial takedown on Chaney.
After a negotiation in halfguard, and then sidecontrol we see Baepple attack backcontrol, though he does not secure both hooks.

Chaney would eventually break chest to back connection with Baeppler, and wrestling back up out of backcontrol and back to his feet.
The match would end up going the entire 6 minutes, and though largely a back and forth battle, Jack Baeppler would take home the 4 points due to referee decision, thanks in part to his early takedown and overall control.

The next match of the evening would be between Cleveland Institute’s Gary Chaney and Abdul Anous of Tackle, where we’d see Gary score a takedown early on in the match, taking the two to the ground.
After rolling out of bounds and being reset in the center several times by the referee, Abdul was finally able to attack a triangle, but Gary does a great job at defending the lockup, and ultimately broke free, to drop back on a leg and attempt a submission of his own.

These two men saw this match go the full 6 minutes, with Gary Chaney being awarded the victory by referee decision, largely due to his topside dominance.

This next match would see South Prospect’s Tim Lange vs Tackle’s Abdul Anous. In this TGGL middleweight bout, Lange secures a slick takedown right out the gate, taking both men down to the mat.

Tim would find himself on Abdul’s back for much of the early first half of this match, maintaining great chest to back connection and overall dominance of the situation.
Though, once free of Lange’s back control, we saw a flurry of submission attempts from both men, first with a d’arce attempt by Anous, and then both men attempting leg entanglements, with Anous finally securing the win and the points via straight ankle.

The final match of this series was also arguably the most exciting as Zachary Beeman and Jack Baeppler went right into it, Beeman playing an aggressive guard game, attempting to get Baeppler off his base and on the ground, while Baeppler was content to attack from standing.
While Baeppler’s athleticism was on display, Beeman’s guard play and brilliant use of butterfly hooks quickly got Jack into a bit of a sticky situation, as Zach positions himself for a triangle, which he then transitions into a very deep armbar attempt before transitioning to a reverse triangle.

In an absolute display of strength, Jack Baeppler stood up with the full weight of Zach Beeman, before realizing the “no slamming” policy of the TGGL.
Beeman then proceeded to roll into an armbar, this time finishing the submission and walking away with another 12 points and the submission victory.
